I purchased this fan because it was able to blow air upwards. I placed it on the floor alongside my bed. High speed is noisy, but medium blows a reasonable amount of air for the noise level the fan creates. What I find very annoying is that the on/off speed control knob is located on the back of the fan, so I need to bend over very far to control the fan. If it came with a remote control, or if the control knob was be located on the front of the fan, that would solve the problem. I'm surprised Vornado didn't view this as an issue. My advice, only use this fan on a desktop if you plan to angle the fan to blow air upward.

Not as big as my first one was you have to be right up close to it

[Employee of bestbuy] This 573t fan is a bit weaker (air flow) than I expected from Vornado. (my two other Vornado fans are pretty strong) However, i wanted one that tipped Fully 90-degrees upright. This unit is also very quiet.

I love these fans and have bought several for several rooms in my house. I find they work really well and am happy for the purchases because it is going to be a hot summer. I have one going behind me as I type this and have been setting it up for my puppy to make him more comfortable.

Powerful enough for the bedroom, quite to put you to sleep
