Pros: It's faster than I initially thought. If you need a fast storage drive without breaking the bank for close to ssd like speeds then this makes for a very great value on its own. Add in cache software such as intel optane/primocache/amd storemi using an actual SSD and you WILL get ssd like speeds (see other). Cons: Can be noisy at 100% load (as expected of HDD's) but very rarely ever does. Sometimes will make a clicking noise (pretty normal) not to be mistaken for it going bad but it's actually called PWL (preventing wear leveling). the clicking noise is a, "periodic head sweep to distribute lubricant and prevent wear in a particular place if lubricant were to build up in one spot. On many older models, this would happen maybe once a minute. But on some builds it’s maybe every 5 seconds". Other Thoughts: The drive by itself is very fast for a HDD as shown with benchmarking with crystaldisk in the first picture. Keep in mind the drive will slow down as it gets filled (a characteristic of all HDD's). If you use a cache software, in my case primo cache from a m.2, then you will get a much faster read/write as shown in the second picture. Got this when there was a sale for it.

This HDD works in my HP Pavilion desktop. It gets noisy at times, for no apparent reason, and at times I have had to reboot my desktop to stop the noise. Otherwise, it reads fast and has given me 4x the storage I began with. It works with my Digital Audio Workstations as well, without slowing or freezing. Being a disc drive, I know the storage will stay good, even with a prolonged period without power if that were to ever happen, but I would prefer solid state if I had the option within my price range for the same space. *Note: I did have to get my computer to detect this drive before it was recognized for formatting, however that went fine, I was able to format the drive and it's running as it should.

Just as the title says, it's not bad for the price it's put at. Around 4TB of hard drive space to fit as much stuff as you want.

Solid build quality and couldn’t be happier with this 4TB for a great price, the speeds are good and comes with a 4 year warranty would definitely recommend for your correct or next build.

Needed some extra space for media files. This fit the bill. Its pretty fast for a HDD. Cost effective as well.

I thought for the money it was a good deal. Never had problems with WD. This one is actually better than the stock on my PC. I haven't really noticed much of a difference of loading time but that never really bothered me.

Bought it while it was on sale, so it was a good deal. It’s pretty heavy for a SATA HDD, but it didn’t cause any problems during installation.

Super good hard drive. Never had an issue with load times or files being corrupt.

Great purchase to make more storage avfter filling my nvme and an economy price with great function. I out all my smaller games on here and they plY with great speed. Easy install. Does not cone with sata cable so you would need to acquire one of your own

I've built PCs since the early 90s and have used different drives through the years. NOTHING is worse than losing your system or important files IMO. These come with a 5 year warranty vs the standard 1 year warranty for most other drives. I have had other drives fail, including a couple of the lower line Western Digitals, but these have served me well. They do run faster so they take up a little more energy but they also perform better. Note: From what I've seen, if you do need factory warranty repair/service from WD, it sounds sketchy with long wait times. I don't think I'd waste my time with that. BUT buy quality drives...AND back up your data! Otherwise, you will be mad at yourself when your system goes down.

EASY TO INSTALL AND SEEMS TO BE WORKING FINE. SALE PRICE WAS GOOD. WD DRIVES USUALLY PERFORM WELL.

Comes with a lot of space (if you choose to buy the larger spaces of course) however the price is unbeatable!! Very reliable!

It's great to get a larger capacity platter drive than what I had being it's, well, larger, and it's much faster being 7200rpm, and with a really nice, long warranty. It does talk a little louder than a slower drive and I can hear it slightly over my new almost silent PC but still not bothersome at all. WD's Black series warranty is piece of mind, too.

Absolutely love the WD internal hard drives. They’re quite, reliable and fast. I was running out of space with my 2tb WD black internal and upgraded to this 4tb one. Installed it in minutes and was up and running. If you’re looking for a reliable internal drive, this is it.

New build and using as a storage drive. Mounted in HDD enclosure of an ASUS GT502 case. Once initialized these drives have a slight clunk every 5 seconds. If hard mounted in case it will amplify that noise. I put some thin rubber sticky grommets around mounting holes which has dampened that noise. I need to look to see if I can dampen the drive mount but not sure how much room between it and case yet. Currently the noise is very faint. If you hold drive in hand the noise is inaudible. This is why if you can isolate the drive with rubber mounts. Then you won;t hear that noise. I have 11 year old Seagate Barracuda drives that are dead silent but were only 1TB which is why I wanted something larger.

Overall solid drive. Very performance. It's no SSD in terms of speed, but for spinning drives with great storage and speed, this is the one to go with. I've been using WD black drives for over 12 years and would highly recommend.

Very happy with the purchase. Runs fast, plenty of space, and relatively quiet. Some small clicking noises, but I don't mind, as I use it in an enclosed storage bay.

Wow! I never thought ide see a fast hard drive but here we are. This has been amazing for long term game, video, and archival storage. The only gripe I have is that it can get pretty noisy under read/write
