I was a little apprehensive on purchasing this, wasn't sure I wanted to spend this much on something that isn't my primary listening source. But after setting it up and turning it on, am very happy I did. I love all the built in streaming capabilities, Tidal, Pandora, Airplay 2, etc. DAB Internet radio, as well as the multitude of inputs to select from. Pretty much run the receiver, or integrated amp if you like, from the Yamaha Multicast app on your phone. Pretty easy to use. I have 2 bookshelf speakers and a sub and have excellent music, and it can get quite loud. This is a real Hi-Fi system indeed.

Great receiver from one of the best names in audio. Plenty of power that is CLEAN AUDIO! Has everything you need to connect plenty of components. Best 2 channel receiver for the money. Bought on sale @ Best Buy $849.00

Very good clean Network Receiver, but at this price range for current times it should include HDMI, which is available on the RN1000 but is audio only. It should be able to display the now playing on the TV via HDMI which is a very desired feature especially at the 1k+ price point. Big miss by Yamaha, but the overall build and SQ is very nice. YPAO needs to be adjustable via PEQ. Musicast needs some work - very laggy and not well laid out

This is a great 2 channel receiver I like everything about it sounds great. In my opinion you can just get rid of the YPAO mic its a 2 channel receiver not a home theater or surround sound I tried it and did not like the sound after it at all.

Bought for an upgrade from the Yamaha R-N303, used Spotify and the phono input and couldn't tell much of a difference. It has more of a flat sound than something where you can boost the treble and bass to give it more oomph. Bass is definitely lacking as mentioned in some other reviews. YPAO is kinda subjective with the results. I expected more than just an updated screen and additional functionality and connection options. Used a pair of ELAC Debut 2.0 B6.2 and an SB-1000 Pro thru the subwoofer out. I ended up returning this receiver.
