Finally, a phone gimbal that can handle the Samsung Galaxy Ultra series phones. I had issues with other brands back when I had a S22 Ultra, then S23 Ultra. Now I have the S24 Ultra and this gimbal can hold the weight, properly balance, AND I can keep the case on my phone. The fill light is cool because it has a wheel to adjust the brightness and it is VERY bright at its max. The Ai tracker is spot on and I can even step behind a door and hide for 10 seconds and come back and it will recatch me. The build quality is very good - I have a DJI RS3 for my larger camera and this matches the nice durable feeling and smooth knobs/nice buttons. I know a lot of companies focus on apple support, so I want to chime in that I had no issues with the app on android and the gimbal supports the 1x 3x and 5x cameras with a max zoom of 10x on the S24 Ultra. One of the other gimbals I tested only supported the 1x and did digital zoom so this is a big plus.

I have the original Smooth 5S, but I needed a vlog system with tracking. I was about to pull the trigger on the DJI Pocket 3 when I ran across the new Smooth 5S AI. I hesitated initially because I didn't think the tracking system would be good enough for me. I was wrong! The AI tracking system on this gimbal is awesome! Compared to the original Smooth 5S, it is almost identical. The main difference is the motors and the AI tracking system. The stabilization of the 5S AI is far superior to that of the original 5S. Let's get into the tracking system. The AI tracking algorithm is excellent! I went for a distance of 2 meters, and the tracking worked well. The gesture control is crazy! I tried all of them. I love this feature! The tracking system and gesture control works on other film applications. I tried the Blackmagic Camera app. Tracking and gesture control works on the Blackmagic Camera app. You don't have to use the ZY Cami or Sta Cam app. BTW, I'm using the iPhone 15 and 16 Pro with this gimbal. Overall, this is a must-buy if you are thinking about purchasing a phone gimbal!

Easy to use and practical to self control really handful

This mobile gimbal will step up your filmmaking straight from your phone. The controls are easy to use and the build is high quality without being too heavy or bulky. I really only needed a lightweight gimbal, but the added AI sensor is a game changer. You can make gestures at the sensor that will control the commands to the gimbal such as tracking, starting or stopping recording, take photos, and even recenter your framing. It makes for very easy and handsfree filming especially when you’re filming by yourself but you still want a high quality video or photo as if someone is taking it for you. Plus, the stabilization is really dependable so you will always have smooth footage.

I’ve been using the Zhiyun Smooth 5 for a few days now, and I honestly don’t know how I was creating without it. As a content creator and social media manager, this gimbal has made my workflow smoother, faster, and way more flexible. It’s super easy to set up, and the built-in modes (like Pan Follow, POV, and Vortex) make it easy to get creative, even when I’m just shooting on the fly. I really like how quickly I can switch modes, and the built-in light with intensity control is clutch when I’m filming in low light. The zoom and tilt knob makes it feel like I’m working with pro gear, and the mini tripod comes in handy more than I expected. My only complaint is that it doesn’t have a battery life indicator—but otherwise, this gimbal checks all the boxes for mobile content creation.
