I did not use item and returned it
This coffee carafe is expensive (over $40) and because it is not dishwasher safe, I decided to return it, and purchase a less expensive carafe at a different store.

WORKS AS ADVERTISED
Bought another as a gift. Product works as advertised. Keeps liquids hot for 12 hours or more.
