The fourth time I used it, my Zoom H1 Essential stopped recording unexpectedly during a documentary interview. I didn't know it stopped, so I lost about 15 minutes of interview audio. Batteries had plenty of charge, the file size wasn't too large, nobody touched the device to cut it off during the interview. It just quit. I feel dumb for relying on a $110 recorder for something so important. A redundant recording will help fill the gap, but the tonality/quality will not match.
