What is XBOX Game Camp?
XBOX Game Camp was founded in 2020 on the belief that extraordinary talent resides everywhere. The program is built around connection and collaboration over competition, pairing participants with mentors and subject matter experts to help teams move from idea to prototype. Microsoft and XBOX make no claim to participants’ IP, platform exclusivity, or first rights of refusal. Participants are free to share, publish, or continue developing their projects after the program, including on platforms of their choosing. As of 2026, XBOX Game Camp has supported more than 3,665 participants globally across 15 camps, with 350+ mentors and over 30 commercial games launched, demonstrating a proven model for skills-building and community impact. Best Buy Foundation presents XBOX Game Camp Minneapolis 2026
The Best Buy Foundation presents XBOX Game Camp Minneapolis 2026, an initiative supporting the next generation of aspiring game creators across Minnesota.
Local teens from Best Buy Teen Tech Centers, schools, and community organizations will be participating in the 12-week camp where they will work alongside industry mentors from XBOX and Microsoft to learn key aspects of video game development from concept to playable prototype.
The Best Buy Foundation is committed to building brighter futures for young people by expanding access to technology, skills-based training, and career pathways. Through a network of Best Buy Teen Tech Centers and partnerships, the Foundation supports the next generation by creating opportunities for real-world experiences to thrive in the tech-reliant careers of the future.
