Well designed product. The "dashboard" software I downloaded from the website is excellent and makes operating the device a breeze...even for the "non techie". Initial backup is not fast, but successive ones are more efficient. I looked at multiple sources, including eBay, and was surprised to find that Best Buy had the best price on this.

Great product, great place for old drives to rest till there end...

I've been using hardware/software raid for about 20 years. I've been running a Drobo 3rd gen for a little while. It's very nice to get such a fine product. I know the early versions were extremely slow, but thanks to years of refinement and more powerful cpu's., this current Drobo is the cats meow. I know there's lots of folks that feel anyone that runs a Drobo is a fool, and maybe this is because they don't understand the truly brilliant design of the Drobo. I will say this, the Drobo is not the fastest raid out there, but in my opinion the Drobo is a beautiful piece of intelligent design. For those of you that don't get it, ignorance is bliss.

This company have the worse customer service i ever deal with. You will spend more than 1k in one hard drive that doesn't last one year and when something happen (for sure last than one year) you will realize that you got some junk in your hand with nothing to do it. The customer service will refuse to talk to you and will hang out as soon they realize that you don't have warranty .... So save your time and money buy a different product with a better customer service. You will thanks me for that .....
