Q: Is there a way to lower the brightness of the clock on the microwave display
A: I had the same issue. The display on my HB microwave was so bright it lit up the room! I tried to find a display adjustment, but it was nonexistent. So, I took a small piece of painters' tape and simply covered that panel. I can see what is says but it no longer blinds me by the light!

Q: Does this model vent through the top?
A: Hi Susan- The microwave is shipped from the factory to vent outdoors out the top (vertically), but can also be vented out the rear (horizontally) or recirculating (non-vent indoors). Recirculating Charcoal Filter JX81J is included for recirculating vent option. Each microwave comes with the mounting hardware (mounting bracket, screws, exhaust adapter), top and rear templates, and installation instructions needed to make installation a simple process. This makes choosing a replacement microwave easy. NOTE: When replacing an over-the-range microwave, the mounting bracket included with the new microwave should be used since the mounting bracket is specific to each model. The new screws, bolts, and exhaust adapter should also be used.
