HP hits a Home run !!!!!!!!!!
Posted .This is one really great Computer and all the little gagets are Awsome like the Quick touch pad really cool. so far its been nothing but a fun HP Laptop thats really cool looking and running. And all things that I have read here that some People have had Problems with I have not had one ! Everything that I thought was a Problem was really just a setting that I needed to set or change and everything after work fine. Like the Batt, Its rechargeable People just like in anything you use it has a Memory and you need to Decharge it as far as you dare or every time you charge it thats all its good for 25% or 50% you need to take the and do it , you Have a cell Phone or Cordless drill and what Happens if you dont let it get a full charge? It drops dead and you go ???? I just charged it . No you recharged it on Half and its memory goes with that, No theirs no Chip in it or little brain it just works that way. So Decharge as in use your HP but eyeball the batt now and then and let it get under 25% Charge and if you like if nothing is open files and such let set T`ill it turns its self off and then Charge it. you will get more life out of your Batt and it will last a lot longer. Im mean my old Laptop that still works fine is a IBM T-20 running XP, The only thing wrong with it is the hard drive is starting feel its age. Read what came with your HP and take the Time you dont always do to Know YOUR LAPTOP it is yours and your the Brain its just a tool that does what you tell too..Dont be in a rush and you will see its a Awsome HP and in time you will be An Awsome HP user.......

THE SEARCH STOPS HERE!
Posted .If you are like how I was and are very worried about getting a faulty laptop, then you need worry NO MORE. I am currently using it to write my review! But anyway, It has a touchscreen toolbar right above the keyboard, where u can control sound and videos, which is very neat and convienient. If you are extremely lazy, it comes with a remote control that does the same thing! The 64 bit Vista on here runs great with no problems whatsoever. Everything is quick and fast. When you connect to a router after just turning your computer on, do not be alarmed if it says you have no connection, it will connect in about 10 secs after being on. With that being said, the connection to wifi is excellent. After you have a router set up, connection is easy. There are so many possibilities with this laptop, that it is unexplainable. For the price, mark my words that you will never find a more convenient laptop than this one. PS. This would be a GREAT idea for a high school or college student. Everything is quick so that they can get what they need to get done fast without waiting. They will be VERY happy with this laptop! I also recommend purchasing Norton 360 and getting a Netgear Router if you get this laptop. In my mind, Norton is best in security and is very user friendly, and Netgear is easily #1 in the router industry.

Simply Amazing
Posted .This is my first laptop after using my sisters Dell for about a year now and I've hated it. Too big, slow, and everytime I wrote papers on it, my hands would touch the mouse pad, causing me to type at a different part, ruining my papers. When I saw this laptop in the store, I loved the lock feature they had on the mouse pad, to disable it. Big plus for me. And with the 4GB ram, expandable to 8GB, how could you top that off? Not to mention the 250GB hard drive space, great webcam with amazing features preinstalled, and the Duo 2 Core processor. All for $650 (atleast when I got it), I couldn't resist. Oh ya, as for battery life, if I don't have the wireless LAN on, and have the system running on power save, I can pull off 3 hours easily, about 2 with wireless connection. It's a 6 cell people, don't expect it to do more than you know it will, grade it according to what it could perform. I'm a student and I've had nothing but positive remarks about this system since the first day I bought it till now. The only thing I noticed bad about the system that I didn't like was during startup, the wireless card takes several minutes to really start searching and get connected, roughly about 3-5 minutes after the system boots. But once connected, your good to go! I highly recommand it to anyone!

OMG.....
Posted .When I purchased this piece of equipment I mostly was looking at the specifications: the harddrive amount, the RAM, the system bus, the processor maker, the weight, the screen size, etc. I wanted something fast and light. I was so busy looking for all of that I missed the rest. First, it run like a DREAM, it makes me LIKE microsoft products. It makes me like Vista (previously addicted to XP). It makes me like Windows office 2007, it makes me like internet explorer all which ran slowly on my previous laptop. I wanted timeliness and boy did I get it. It responds to me and doesn't leave me waiting! It was only AFTER I loaded all my junk on it and watched it do its thing that I realized that it has a touchscreen panel and that it comes with a remote and that it lightscribes! I was so busy looking at performance i forgot about fun! and for someone that loves media: moves, music, games (they are in 3d!) this became so much more than I expected. I don't write reviews, but I must say, it's a reallyyyyyyyyyyyyy good laptop. I highly recommend it.

Great Laptop for the price!
Posted .Just purchased the laptop, normally $799, bought it for $650. With all the features and performance of this laptop compared to others on the market with the same contents, this laptop ROCKS! Other laptops with the same ram, processor, hard drive normally retails for over $1K. It's lightweight, ultra portable, and high performance. The display is awesome, very clear. Getting used to Vista and 64 bit is definately different. I still like XP better. Keep in mind, not all new software or old will work with 64bit. So new software is a must, make sure the software is 64bit compatible. What else is cool is that you can install a usb flash drive and use the ram in the flash drive for increased computer ram. For example the computer comes with 4GB ram, if you attach a 2GB USB flash drive then you instantly have 6GB ram. It's a feature that the Vista 64 bit accesses. I would recommend this model to anyone, it's far better than the newest models on the market.

Great Laptop!!!
Posted .This is a great laptop. It is fast and i have never had to wait for other windows to open up since its a fast machine.I had picked up the dv5-1004nr a week prior to this laptop coming out and it was very slow. It had an AMD chip in it which more than likely was the problem since Intel is better than Amd. So i exchanged it for this laptop and everthing is far better. The screen size is great for taking to school (which is what its for). The battery life is great as well. I got about 2-3 hours out of this laptop taking notes in class on the lowest power setting. The quick play buttons above the keyboard are great. Yes your fingerprints will show up on the trackpad, but thats a simple wipe away. Buy this laptop. I purchased mine for $649..

Solid Machine from HP
Posted .I bought this laptop from Best Buy online and had it delivered two days ago. With too much junkware taking almost 40G of hard drive, I attempted to remove all of the junk stuff and it caused the computer to crash (blank screen). I had to stay on the phone for hours with an HP support specialist who helped restoring the systems back to original settings. I accidentally turned off wireless device, but the HP support guy had no idea why the machine could not detect a wireless network though it was available. I let an HP guy and a Verizon guy accessing my laptop to figure out why the wireless device was not functioning. And both could not figure it out. Finally I did it myself by touching the wireless connection sign! I still don't know why vendors keep loading laptops with trashware, and I almost returned it. Other than the issues mentioned, I am happy with this machine. At $650, it is a very good deal.

One of the best laptop I have ever used
Posted .This is one of the best laptop I have ever used. I have been using various Sony models for past few years and was hesitant to get HP. I have loved x-bright dual lamp screen and thought HP might not deliver the same results but when I saw it at best buy, I was amazed with the results!!! It is even better than my existing Sony laptop and price was unbelievable low at $649.00 with all these great features. It was indeed a deal, and I am loving it. It is extremely fast and well designed. It gives everything you want from today's laptop. The only thing I did not like it is Touch Pad; it is quite sticky and you can not use it when your fingures are wet. I think I need to put some sticker on it to get it work in a better way. This is awesome!!! See the performance review here and it leads... http://reviews.cnet.com/laptops/hp-dv4-1125nr/4505-3121_7-33309968-2.html?tag=txt;page :)
