Noted indie director Jim Jarmusch directs the vampire story Only Lovers Left Alive. Tom Hiddleston stars as Adam, a bloodsucker who makes a living as a reclusive musician in Detroit. He reunites with the love of his life, Eve (Tilda Swinton), a fellow vampire who leaves her home overseas to be with him in the downtrodden Motor City. They eventually get a visit from Eve's irresponsible sister (Mia Wasikowska), who irritates Adam and eventually causes trouble with the one human -- the vampires refer to the living as zombies -- with whom the depressed music hero gets along. Only Lovers Left Alive screened at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival.~Perry Seibert
I like the director, as he's done some good cult classic like "Dead Man", and this one doesn't disappoint either. It's more of an art movie, than a vampire action movie, but that's why it's good. It's heavy on character development and interaction. the blu-ray looks really good, and it has a few supplements that make it a worthwhile purchase.
Great condition, it played through. This movie is a great underrated vampire film.
I would recommend this to a friend

incredible movie, but for some reason the blu-ray I received is messed up - about 20 minutes into the movie the audio slowly cuts out to only include music and certain sound effects, when the film switches to another character the sound comes back briefly and then dies away again. I tested all of my speakers and other blu-rays/streaming services and it's literally only this blu-ray that has sound mixing issues - i can only assume it was some kind of production error. very weird and disappointing, but I guess if there's any movie i'm willing to buy twice it's this one
the movie's cast is what pulled me in, to be honest, especially after the sudden death of one of its stars :( its a really beautifully done art house twist on a romantic vampire rock & roll love story. its def worth seeing. ive already rewatched it a few times.
The movie tells the story of the main two characters who happen to be vampires but act more like an emotional teenagers that take life too serious, hate everything about it, and everyone. There is not a plot, or much story to tell. To be honest is not a great movie, but it did entertain me. Wouldn't watch it again. I do have to admit that there may be some people that will love it. It is definitely the type of Film that you either hate or love.
