Amazing quality packaged with Pioneer receiver
What amazing speakers! I recently purchased a top of the line 4K but upon further review I was disappointed to note that my old receiver would not work optimally with it. I went back to Best Buy to purchase a new receiver and center channel, but while there I found a Pioneer receiver VSX90 packaged with these speakers and discounted by 33%. The receiver was plenty powerful enough and had all the features that i had wanted. What sold me on the package was when we hooked up the Elite speakers. They had to be manually swapped out with $1800 each speakers so that I could listen to them. Comparing the two speakers there was an obvious difference in quality, but not as great as you would imagine. The base on these bookshelf speakers held their own to the more expensive floor standing speakers. The mid-range sounds were the biggest difference with the bookshelf speakers lacking. Overall I was extremely impressed with the price and quality. Once home I hooked up the receivers and speakers and was blown away. Upon doing more research I found excellent reviews for them.

great speaker with bass limitations
Speaker was smaller than expected. Not a bad thing in respect to having limited home space. Great overall sound but disappointing bass response. I did not have a connected subwoofer which may have affected this. Bass distorted at low levels especially during dvd movie playback. Maybe due to small stature of speaker cabinet. All in all very satisfied with speaker performance. Grateful for sale price which elicited a more positive review.

Best Speakers Ever
This is best bookshelf speaker you can get for your money. Especially for under $1000 and budget. The sound is clear and crisp. I'm amazed that I can hear instruments and sounds I couldn't hear before with my old speakers. The setup was easy. I didn't buy a subwoofer since I already have one. When I finished the setup and started to play some music I realized that these speakers don't need a subwoofer! If you're in the market for a pair of speakers give these a look, you won't be disappointed.

Simply stunning.
I got these under $500 (open box) and on a whim. They sounded great with my humble Denon AVR 591 5.1, but then I purchased the Atmos enabled Pioneer 1130 and...the stereo sound is simply beyond belief. These speakers are on the forward side...which makes you believe, for instance, that there is a guitar playing right by your ear...lots of "air" arround and a huge room as background. Forward, but never harsh. Bass is well-defined, acceptable in depth (I do not use a sub for music), mid bass is very tuneful. All in all, their highest virtue is that they sound...musical! Absolutely engaging and pleasant. I like them so much that I went and bought the center channel too. It makes a great home theater system...you know that when you cannot tell whether a dog is actually barking in the open air or is the sound comming from a speaker.

Great speakers for Dolby Atmos setup
Sound quality is excellent, somewhat laid back overall. Atmos sounds great, but up the decibel level settings on the Atmos speakers on your AVR to make it work right. Clear and transparent, runs fine with 90w, but open up a bit with more power. The fact that you get 2 Atoms speakers in the same space is a +. In multi channel stereo, running it with the Atmos speakers sounds better than running them without for music specifically. Sounds better than the KEF Q100 by a large margin. In stereo 2.1, sound great. These are bookshelves and need a subwoofer to round out the bottom end. Really need a sub for home theater application.
