That is a tough one... I would assume they would need access to your Best Buy account to transfer the warranty to be honest. For instance, they would need to know your phone number to access your account with the Accidental Coverage on it. If they wanted to renew the said protection, they can likely just buy a new protection plan alltogether for it under a account with their name on the purchase.
