“Wireless Subwoofer Kit? I have a full-blown home theater in my basement, but I'm considering "surround sound" for my family room's 42" TV. That said, it would be used more for improved sound at lower volumes than at volumes that would rock the house, and I don't have the opportunity to hardwire the rear speakers or subwoofer. So, I have two questions: 1) Can I use a Wireless Subwoofer Kit (such as the RocketFish RF-WSW312 sold by Best Buy) to "convert" to a wireless subwoofer without the wireless sub interfering with the rear surround wireless system or otherwise negatively impacting performance of the Samsung system generally? 2) If the answer to Question 1 is "yes", I know that the sub that comes with the HT-J5500ZA system is "passive", so the "wireless subwoofer" wouldn't work well (if at all) with the system's included subwoofer. Rather than use the Samsung passive subwoofer, could I use an "active subwoofer" from a computer speaker package with the wireless subwoofer kit instead? I'm sure the sub's quality would not be comparable, but -- again -- I don't really need to rock the house anyway.”

The question of interference is always a crapshoot. You would have to see if the transmitters are both on the same frequency and channel and none of that info is easy to find. I would say try it, and if you get interference, return it. But I would not say "try it" because the Rocketfish wireless subwoofer kit you mentioned does not come with speaker level inputs, and the Samsung unit does not come with a line level subwoofer output. So the two systems are not compatible. To use another systems active subwoofer would still require either speaker level inputs on the subwoofer, or speaker level-to-line level converter between the Samsung and the subwoofer.
