This sounds like an issue that may be with the disc or input into the system. Since the system itself can make the test sound it appears that everything works. This might be a question best asked at Samsung support or get the Geek Squad to come and take a look.

Unless there is something wrong with the media or the head unit but it seems more like the media since you're getting sound during the test. Good luck, hope this helps a little.
