• The Chromebook supports USB devices. Just make sure that your device supports the Chrome OS.

• It will support a hard drive. However, I have never tried a DVD player. I have never had the need.

• Yes, as long as there are no files that need installing when you connect the external device you can play locally stored music and movie files in any of the compatible file types with the media player.
