Yes you can use a wireless mouse with a Chromebook. The battery is rated at up to 12 hours. Please note this was bench marked at an idle state. This will depend on how the Chromebook is being used, ie: light internet browsing or word processing versus watching videos on Youtube, audio streaming, etc.
