Yes you can. The entire bottom cover will have to be unscrewed and removed. I actually put a WD BLUE 1TB 3D NANDS SSD (M.2 2280) in mine. I converted the HD that came with the laptop to a portable USB Hard Drive with everything intact. This upgrade made a big improvement in boot time and overall system performance. I also upgraded my system memory to 16 GB .
