• Ubuntu loaded onto it fine, but only after a lot of messing around with the BIOS.

• I have not but i dont see why you wouldnt be able to. When i changed out the hard drive in my laptop and put this one in i had to install windows 10 from a bootable usb so im assuming you can do the same with linux.
