Hello there Tom! The one I purchased at Best Buy was NOT a display model, but was packaged. It is a very robust zippy tablet, and works great. If you can still get your hands on one, I highly recommend it as a value-for-the-money purchase, any day! It's also great as a spare system, and so easy to travel with.
