No. The remote talks to a TARGET. And the 'smartness' is in the target. If the TV is not smart and already has fireTV built in, the remote is talking to nothing. It may turn the TV on or off and change volume or channels if its the right brand. But that's it.

The Alexa Voice remote is not a streaming stick and cannot give you access to stream your favorite content by itself.
