Yes you can. Echo Dot is the exact same thing as the Echo except Echo has a larger speaker than does the Echo Dot.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes... The echo dot only needs an internet connection and it works just like the others.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. The Echo Dot, the Echo, the Echo Tap, a bunch of iOS and Android apps, and soon a whole host of other products (like the Sonos:One wireless speaker), all run the Amazon Alexa software platform, which recognizes your voice commands to accomplish various tasks, including operating "smart home" devices, running web searches for helpful information (like today's weather, news, etc...) , and keeping track of reminders, timers, alarms, and your shopping list. All you need for the Echo Dot to work is a high-speed internet connection running at your location. The main difference between the Echo Dot and the full-sized Echo is the much better speaker and the volume control ring that are on the Echo, but not on the Echo Dot. So, if you are not concerned about high fidelity music, the Dot is the better value, since both run Alexa equally well.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Absolutely. The functionality is the same, just not as good for playing music (smaller speaker).
