• Yes you can talk in between all you have hook up by asking Alexa to drop in on another echo.

• Yes, you can talk to echo, that's the basis of the device. However, I don't think you can use them as walkie-talkies if that's what you meant as "means of communication".

• yes you can talk to Echo similar to Siri. You don't need anything but a wifi connection. I am not sure if you can communicate between floors.
