• The unit does have a large vocabulary. You do have to start your sentence with Alexa or Echo which ever you configure it to activate. It is limited compared to Full sentence conversation like the google unit. Sometimes you need to ask specific question. Alexa will tell you how she may understand though.

• Not really just answer questions, or follow directions. I like how you can verbally adjust the volume and stop music or even news update etc.
