“We are looking a getting this for our elderly mom. She leaves in the country and has wifi. She has a cellphone but does not have cell service at her home as she lives to far out in the country. Will we be able to make video calls or drop in function?”

Yes, as long as you have an internet connection you can use it. The only issue you might have is to set it up (amazon account needed) but you can easily create one for her. Did the same with my parents. I can drop in at any time even though they're living on a different continent :)

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes!! As long as she has WiFi you can make video calls and drop on! We purchased one for my Mom because she frequently falls. I love being able to drop in and make sure everything is ok if we can’t reach her by phone! The only time we have been unable to reach her was when her WiFi was down due to an issue with her cable company but that is extremely rare.
