    • Answer The answer is both yes and no. It depends on what your intended use is. If you want to use this just as a book reader and nothing else, you can transfer content via USB using the cable but it is a bit more of a chore to do so. On the other hand, the selling point of these, really is for people who have an Amazon Prime account since it is not only a book reader but also a media consumption device. This tablet can also play video content from Amazon Prime video and music as well and you would need Wi-Fi for that. Quite honestly, though, I wouldn’t recommend this model for nothing more than a basic book reader and nothing else as it’s runs slow due to the amount of RAM it has. For this, I would go with at least the Amazon Fire HD 8 as it has both more RAM and a larger screen. But using it as a book reader is ideal, but maybe a bit on the sluggish side.     • Answer Hello, tevis! The dimensions of the Fire 7 tablet are 7.6” x 4.5” x 0.4”. As far as using it while it is plugged in, that should be fine. After an extended period of time, it might wear on the battery, but if you are charging the device and want to use it while it is charging, you should be fine.

Currently our entire Fire Tablet lineup is for use on WiFi and not set to work with a carrier's data service so no SIM card can be used in these devices. If, by chance, you meant to ask if it can use a microSD card to increase the data storage space of this device then the answer is yes it is compatible with a number of microSD cards.
