“Do you need WIFI after renting a book from Overdrive? I am new to the eReader but have found on my smart phone it is easier for me to read instead of the old fashioned paper books. Before purchasing an eReader, I want to know if I need to use my WIFI while sitting in my car reading on my lunch break. Thank you for any information you can provide!”

No, once you download book you can read anytime without wifi connection.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I've not used Overdrive. But, if you can download the book to your device, once it is downloaded, you do not need wi-fi to read it. Check with Overdrive to see which ereaders are recommended. They all use different formats and some will crossover to other devices with an extra addition of software. I have had to add apps to access books to my kindle. They work, but you need to know before you try to read the book.
