“Generation 5??? How can we tell this is a Generation 5? There is nothing in the description that states this. And curious as to why Amazon has delayed shipment of this until Dec 27th, yet it is available from Best Buy. Thoughts?”

Any of them purchased new at Best Buy would be 5th generation

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes this is generation 5. I am sure Best Buy has it available because they planned for this tablet to be a big hit. Prior to Black Friday, I seen the stores with cart loads of these tablets being hauled into the stores. At Amazon, the date of availability, changes based upon how many orders come in, so that is the backorder date.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I was confused by this, too. I'm guessing that it refers to the Operating System, which is currently 5.0.2 for this device. Also, for the shipment question, I'm guessing it's just a question of what was in stock at various warehouses. After Thanksgiving, Best Buy didn't have it in warehouses and shipments were delayed. So I guess it's now Amazon's turn.

As for BB having them now, they likely ordered or were given thousands of them prior to the Black Friday sale.. Most Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales will be delayed because they were discounted and demand was so high. I am on the list myself for 3 more tablets. My BB only had 1 left when i shopped the store.
