• No it's not. Amazon has its own version of the app store which is unfortunate. You will find most common apps in there but typically they could be not the latest versions and also not updated as often as they are in the Google Play store.

• It runs off of Amazon not Google, bit of a down fall or CON if you ask me.

• Amazon uses a different system to installing google play would require warranty-breaking reprogramming. That being said, many of the apps that work on google play have a amazon version

• I think you can but you need to install a load of Google services. I declined to do this as I'm fed up with the amount of background tasks they seem to run which slow down my other android devices. Sticking with the Amazon approved stuff should keep it relatively zippy.
