No, you do not. There are free apps just like play but they also have a new app called Underground that has free full apps.

For Amazon Prime you can. But you don't need an Amazon Prime account to download games and apps. The games and apps must be compatible with your Kindle Fire 7.

You do not need an Amazon Prime account but there are many incentives to get one. Downloads are also possible through the Google Play App.

No. you don't need amazon prime. Google play works fine. Although, I think when you first start up your kindle it will ask you to create a account and password if I remember. But, for sure it didn't cost a thing.
