• It is similar to play, but their own store. Plenty of popular apps and lots of free ones.

• No, you do not. There are free apps just like play but they also have a new app called Underground that has free full apps.

• For Amazon Prime you can. But you don't need an Amazon Prime account to download games and apps. The games and apps must be compatible with your Kindle Fire 7.

• You do not need an Amazon Prime account but there are many incentives to get one. Downloads are also possible through the Google Play App.

• No. you don't need amazon prime. Google play works fine. Although, I think when you first start up your kindle it will ask you to create a account and password if I remember. But, for sure it didn't cost a thing.
