- Answer amazon fire runs a customized version of android. you don't have google play but you have an appstore. most of the apps that they are on google play are available for Amazon fire.

- Answer it has only a touch-screen keyboard, I recommend a bluetooth keyboard/case for it. for hard-core word-processing you would want a full-size (bluetooth) keyboard, and an external monitor.... requires a special mini-usb to HDMI cable (and HDMI monitor)...
