• It's really best for e reading. If you want to skype I would suggest a higher end kindle with a better processor. The 8" from this year gets great reviews as a tablet or e reader.

• We used it to Skype with my daughter in Florida over the holidays. It was clear and the sound was perfect. We all sat around the table and passed it along as we each got the opportunity to wish the entire family a happy holiday.

• The front camera is only 2 megapixels, so honestly, not very clear. If video chat is your main reason for buying, you may be disappointed

• It's actually really good however it will ultimately depend on how fast your Internet is and the connectivity.

• Not the greatest but most front facing cameras on tablets aren't the greatest . It also depends on the connection of both parties
