well, this is not a kindle, it is a Fire tablet, with a backlit LCD screen. think iPad or android tablet. If you want something that is made for reading in bright sunlight I would suggest a Kindle e-paper e-reader. like the kindle paperwhite or voyage.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.If you put it on max brightness, you can see it somewhat in daylight, for example i sometimes use it in car with the sun coming in window. However, what you are talking about is an e-Ink screen, and no it does not have that. There are still kindles that offer that, even a wristwatch that offers it i think, but none of the color tablets with full interactivity really offer that because it's a little too slow to update those screens and I'm sure there are other issues.
