$15 to remove the ads but they don't bother me at all. When you unlock the device the ads go way and there are several wallpapers already installed. The ads change from time to time so they aren't bad at all.

Yes, you can do that either through customer service of Amazon, or through Amazon's website on your account that you have at Amazon.
