Hello Etta, Thank you for your question. Unfortunately the Fire HD 8 kids tablet is not waterproof. Do not use your kids Fire tablet or its accessories in rain, or near sinks or other wet or highly humid locations. Take care not to spill any food or liquid on your Fire tablet or its accessories. If your device does get wet, unplug all cables, turn off the device (press the power button until the menu pops up, then select "shut down"). Wait for the device to dry completely before pressing the Power button to wake again. Do not attempt to dry your Fire tablet or its accessories with an external heat source, such as a microwave oven or hair dryer. Hope this helps have a nice day!
