• No, Amazon Prime is NOT required. However, you might want to consider Amazon Prime because of all the movies and programs they offer. My main streaming app is HULU. But I do have Amazon Prime for the items mentioned.

• No. All you need is a regular amazon account to set up the Fire TV Stick. You just won't have free access to Amazon Prime Video. If you don't have a regular Amazon account, don't worry, you can create an account during the setup.
