  • Questionhow do i get a kindle with no ads?

    Asked by mimi.

    • Answer Hello Mimi, In order to make your Kindle Paperwhite Ad free, you can follow the steps I've listed below. There is a one time charge for this feature, the charge is currently $20 but that is subject to change. Here are the steps to do so: - From a web browser on a computer or your smart device navigate to the Amazon website - Log in to your Amazon Account - Locate the "Manage Devices Page" - Select "Devices" and then Select your Kindle - Under Special Offers click "Remove Offers" - A Pop up will display the price. - Click "End Offers and Pay Fee" to Proceed. I hope this answers your question!

    Asked by Noah.

    • Answer Hello Noah, The Kindle Paperwhite does come standard with Ads, however, you can select to go ad free by paying a one time charge. Currently the one time fee is $20. This will permanently remove ads from your Kindle Device. Here is how you can do this from your web browser on a smart phone or laptop: - Go to Amazon.com and Log in to your account. - Navigate to the "Manage Your Devices" Page - Select "Devices" and then select the Kindle you would like to be ad free. - Under "Special Offers" Click Remove Offers. A pop up window will display showing the price to remove ads. Select "End Offers and Pay the Fee" and you're all set! I hope this helps!

  • QuestionHow can I check what year model I own, when I no longer have my purchase information. Is it printed somewhere on the device or how can find out? Thanks….

    Asked by Cammoman99.

    • Answer Hello Cammoman99! As long as the Kindle is still working all you have to do is go to Settings > Device Options > Device Info. This screen will show the generation and serial number. If the device is not functioning you can typically find the serial number printed in small font on the back of the device. Searching online for the first 5-6 characters of the serial number should yield the info on what generation your device is. I hope this answers your question and I hope you have a great day!

  • QuestionDoes the kindle read to you?

    Asked by TRoge.

    • Answer Hello TRoge, Yes, The Kindle Paperwhite uses a feature called VoiceView which is a screen reader that can narrate text and navigation to Bluetooth headphones or through the devices speakers. To turn this feature on: Click Settings Click Accessibility Locate "VoiceView Screen Reader" and toggle it to "On" Once Voice View is enabled. Once you open a book, the Kindle will begin reading it aloud automatically. I hope this helps!

  • QuestionHow do I get the unsupported ad type?

    Asked by Bobbi.

    • Answer Hello Bobbi! If you are seeing an "Unsupported ad type" error or message on your Kindle Paperwhite, it usually isn't a feature you "get" intentionally; rather, it's a technical state that occurs when the device's ad-supported system hits a snag. I hope that this helps!

  • QuestionDoes it have external storage?

    Asked by SwissAssassin.

    • Answer Hi SwissAssassin, Thank you for your question about the Kindle Paperwhite (16 GB) 2024 model. No, the Kindle Paperwhite does not have external storage or expandable memory. The device comes with a fixed internal storage capacity of either 16 GB or 32 GB (depending on the model you choose), and there is no SD card slot or other method to expand the storage. However, 16 GB of storage is quite generous for an e-reader and can hold thousands of books. Here's what you can expect: 16 GB can store approximately 3,000-4,000 e-books (depending on file size) 32 GB (Signature Edition) can store approximately 6,000-8,000 e-books Additionally, all your purchased Kindle books are stored in Amazon's cloud, so you can download and remove books from your device as needed without losing access to your library. If you need more storage capacity, you might consider the Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition (32 GB), which offers double the storage along with additional features like wireless charging and an auto-adjusting front light. Happy reading!

  • QuestionI bought a desktop charger which was recommended and doesn’t seem to be charging?

    Asked by PeterL.

    • Answer Hi PeterL, The Kindle Paperwhite doesn’t require a special desktop charger. It should charge normally using the included USB cable and a standard USB power adapter. If it’s not charging, try a different cable or adapter to see if that resolves it. Hope this helps!

  • QuestionIf I read on my kindle at home or on vacation & then I want to read on my phone while I’m outside my home/hotel without my kindle, will my reading spot update between the two devices? If so, does this require WiFi and syncing each time I switch devices?

    Asked by CuriousGeorge.

    • Answer It does require you to sync your account so you have to be connected via WiFi for it to work. I’ve had success switching from my kindle to my phone just by syncing to the last page read.
