• The iPad 6th generation came with a 12 watt adapter and a USB-A to lightning cord. This 20 watt adapter will not work with your original cord, as it has the smaller USB-C connection. To use this adapter, you would need a USB-C to lightning cord. If you are trying to charge your iPad with the small square 5 watt adapter, it will charge very slowly.
