I just gave my old model to husband. There is a process. Basically self explanatory. Clean slate is to remove all apps, instructions are in user guide. iBooks should have your user guide or go to apple site. Restore and remove your apple account from device. There is a section to give instructions on treating as new iPad. Good luck.
