If you are buying the model with a cellular plan and shipping it out of the country you need to make sure it is unlocked so that it can work on any carrier that your family or friend uses. Make sure you get one with the proper carrier for your family or friend in that country.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.A locked or unlocked device only pertains to Cellular. Using a WiFi only device can be used anywhere in the world except North Korea and China. When a device is sold “locked” it means it has to be activated by the propriatary company’s cellular service and usually with a 1 or 2 year contract. The Ipad you are looking at is WiFi only !
