I just bought a new iPad, my young grandson typed numbers on the screen to open it. I have no idea what the numbers were and he can’t remember. Whatever I try it will lock me out for an hour. Is there any way I can reset this, or how do I open the screen? null

Your young grandson actually SET the password for your iPad! You should make sure to set up your device yourself prior to allowing children to use it in the future. Fortunately, Apple does give you a way to reset your device to factory defaults:

You have to call apple to get them to do a factory reset to get back in the iPad.
