• You would have to open an account with either Verizon/AT&T/Sprint/T-Mobile in order to purchase a new Iphone from BestBuy.

• Either buy it from apple or choose the carrier you want to use and then purchase the phone. Then to use the sim buy a phone plan from them.

• You'll have to get set up with a carrier account. This is possible to do online, but I find that folks prefer to come in to their local Best Buy or carrier store to get their account created and activated.
