Trade in value is determined by the type and condition of the device you wish to trade in. If you wish to trade the device into Best Buy directly it will be issued as a store credit. If you are on a post paid plan through AT&T or Verizon you can trade your old device in for a bill credit that will be applied when they receive and value the device.
