A:Answer Verizon will send you a padded envelope and box with a prepaid label to ship your old phone back to them after you start the activation/trade-in process on your new phone. You will start this process in the Verizon portal after you login with your username/mobile and password.
The nice part is that you will have both your old phone and your new phone at the same time so you can take your time and do your backup/data transfer. Also if you have MFA codes and that kind of thing, you can still use your old phone until you successfully transfer it to your new phone.
And lastly, it can take some time for the new phone to activate so you will have your old phone in the meantime. Once everything is activated, you will see your new billing cycle a few changes:
1. One-Time Activation Fees
2. New monthly finance charge if you financed
3. Credit offset from trade-in ($830 if done with 36 month financing for upgrade line, $1000 if new or added line)
I've pieced most of this process together myself but I'm fairly confident this is how it is going to play out. I'll know for sure Friday when I pick up my new Pro Max :)
