I ended up having to bring mine back to Best Buy (for completely unrelated reasons) they did charge me the initial fee that I paid when I first received signed up to give me a brand new duplicate. However, five days later, I do believe that BestBuy did refund that purchase money back into my bank account. We're you under warranty? Did you happen to purchase the Apple care + plan with you initial purchase of the device? Honestly, that seems like a manufacturer issue and return to me.
