• Just buy a bluetooth receiver for your Bose. Then you can connect any blue tooth device without having to plug into the dock. I bought one for around $15 and it lives in my Bose dock. No problems connecting to the ipod , Amazon echo, or any other device.

• You can but you will need an adapter to convert from you 30 pin connector on your Bose docking station to convert it to the new apple lightning cord input to the new Ipod, or if the bose has an auxiliary input you could use a 3.5 mm aux cord but it would not charge the Ipod while playing if connected in this manner..
