The main downside is that the MacBook Neo is only available with 8GB of unified memory, so it’s not the best choice for users who regularly do demanding work like 4K video editing, 3D rendering, software development with multiple virtual machines, or other memory-intensive tasks. You can choose between 256GB or 512GB of SSD storage, but the memory isn’t configurable. That said, for everyday use web browsing, Office apps, streaming, schoolwork, light photo editing, and multitasking. It performs much better than the specs suggest. I bought one for my wife, and despite my initial concerns about the fixed 8GB of RAM, it has exceeded her expectations. If your workload is typical day-to-day computing, the MacBook Neo offers an excellent balance of performance, portability, battery life, and value.
