- Answer There is a tiny switch on the top edge of the keyboard. That needs to be pushed so that you see green. I hope that helps.

- Answer No and you don't need it if you are using it with a MacBook (and Apple Display) as you can use the TouchID on the MacBook. On the other hand, if you are not using a MacBook you can spend more money and buy one with TouchID

QuestionWhat's the difference between the $129 keyboard with numeric keypad and the $179 keyboard for M1 Macs? I assume the former will work just fine with my 2021 M1 MBP

- Answer I have an M2 and got the $129 one and it works just fine. I didn't really need the TouchID and didn't feel like it was worth an extra $50.

- Answer So far it’s worked with everything we’ve used it on. Even a windows laptop. It does work on our girls iPad mini as well. Which we got three years ago. Don’t know the model but it’s an awesome keyboard. Very light and battery last a long time.
