The Magic Mouse is an actual computer "mouse", that requires you to move the mouse with your hand to move the cursor. The surface of the Magic Mouse acts like a "trackpad" in that you can swipe up and down to scroll vertically and side-to-side for horizontal scrolling. The Magic Trackpad is similar to the trackpads in a laptop. You do not move the trackpad itself. You move your finger, or fingers, on the trackpad surface to move the cursor.
