• No, only 1st generation Apple Pencil works with it. You can use Apple Pencil (2nd generation) with - iPad Air (4th generation), iPad Pro 12.9-inch (3rd generation) and later and iPad Pro 11-inch (1st generation) and later models

• The iPad 8th only works with the first gen pencil. I’d highly recommend the iPad Pro when you can afford it and the 2nd gen pencil drawing is absolutely incredible on the Procreate app. And the new additional ram and processor is amazing it’s so fast. The display is incredible aswell with the retina.
